RRjunior (I)'s Favourite TV Shows

Allowing your kids to watch a TV isn't a parenting crime, as long as you know how to make sure the limited quantity of TV is maximum quality. The experts agree that kids should watch not more than two hours of TV a day. Here, then are RRjunior (I) 's top 10 favourite TV shows:

10) Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood
Image: Google

This show is simply super cute and focuses on the social emotional skills such as how to use appropriate word as well as how to develop a positive sense of self. With the help of Daniel and his friends, the kids can learn practical skills for growing, developing and coping with daily problems; such as how to get dressed, how to tie shoe, how to take turns, manage feelings, treat each other with kindness and respect.

*** Daniel Tiger's neighbourhood used to be RRjunior (I)'s favourite show when he was 2.5 years old. My favourite episode was Stop and Go Potty. "When you have to go potty, stop and go right away. Flush and wash and be on your way". It teaches kids to stop playing when they need to go to the toilet. In fact, most of the kids love tiger, isn't it?

9) Doc Mcstuffins
Image: Google

Being a doctor involves a lot of problem solving, logic, and reasoning. This show is about a little girl who is inspired by her doctor mother to open up playhouse clinic for her stuffed animals and toys. That gives the show a chance to teach kids about health and hygiene topics, and addresses their fear of the doctor by explaining with the check up process and tools.

*** This show was also one of RRjunior (I)'s favourite when he was 2 years old. Yes! It's kind of a girl show but the main character sends good messages to the kids about being healthy and also not to feel afraid when we seek a Doctor. Plus, this show encourage kids to help each other whenever they can

8) Charlie and Lola
Image: Google

The stories in this show are simple and sweet. Just a five year-old girl and her nine year-old brother, using their imaginations to enjoy themselves.

Lola can't check out the library book she loves and Charlie helps her choose another one.
Lola wants to be the bigger one so she can go on the big kid amusement park ride and Charlie pretends to be the little brother so she can see how it feels.
Lola wants it to snow every day and Charlie takes her on an imaginary trip to the North and South Poles.
Lola and her friend Lotta want to play pretend and Lola has forgotten her suitcase of props. They search the house for other things to pretend with.

Lola always finds the positive way to her situations and Charlie is always to guide her. It shows that Charlie and Lola as Role models for healthy sibling relationships and young friendship.

*** It's kind of similar concept with Max and Ruby. I still remember this show when I used to babysit my nephew and niece in Edinburgh back in 2009. It was a must watch TV show after school time. You can try to watch or download from You Tube. Suitable for kids 3 years and above.

 7) Dora The Explorer

Image: Google

Dora is a main character who also introduces Spanish words, kids are asked to repeat with them/ sing along with songs incorporating the words. This show teaches kids about numbers, directions, colours, and shapes as they help Dora solve riddles and puzzles along her way. Plus, one of the key aspects of Dora's character is her empathy; she cares, shares, and helps others even Swiper the fox who is constantly stealing other characters' stuff

*** Even though this show is more likely for girls, I love the fact that this show is actually improved the vocabulary of RRjunior (I). Besides, RRjunior (I) is finally can determine left and right.

 6) Paw Patrol

Image: google

Paw Patrol is a show with puppies; fire trucks, construction equipment, helicopters, police cars which introducing the kids to Rescue Team (police, firemen) who team up to help community in trouble. This show teaches them how to solve problems, the power of teamwork and respect to people of different background.

***  Even though this show is not educational, the main character; Ryder and his pups are good role models and gives positive messages about bravery, teamwork and community roles. Besides, it's a same cartoon concept such as Tayo, Robocar, and Superwings.

5) Bubble Guppies

Image: Google

This show features a group of six fish-tailed preschoolers who attend a school and taught by their classroom teacher, Mr. Grouper. In each episode, the Bubble Guppies learn something new about their underwater world that easily relates to real challenges and concerns that the kids fact in real life.

By watching this show, the kids learn through music about topics such as science, math, literacy, treatment doctors, the solar system, recycling, colors, music instrument, and so much more. Besides, it also has positive social messages about friendship, responsibility, and solving problems.

*** I actually sit and watch together with RRjunior (I) as the song is catchy and the lessons are practical. It's definitely fun to watch.

4) The Day Henry Met...?

Image: Google

The Day Henry Met is  the story of 4 year old Henry who meets something new everyday. Such as; fire engine, whale, moon, broccoli or a car. This show is a playful way of encouraging the kids to explore about the weird and wonderful things on planet earth; it can inspire kids' own interest in making discoveries.

*** It's current favourite show RRjunior. He enjoys it a lot!

3) Team Umizoomi

This show features mini characters; Milli, Geo, and their friend, Bot using their mighty math powers to help children solve problems. It reinforces numeracy skills like counting, measuring and spatial relations. Besides, they will develop other key skills such as shape recognition and color/ pattern identification along the way.

*** My son is crazy about this show as he loves shapes and counting.

2) Blaze and The Monster Machine

This show teaches kids about science, technology, engineering and math concepts through the adventures of monster truck and human characters. Blaze is a red monster truck who races around Axle city with his best friend and driver, AJ. Each episode is jam-packed with racing adventures featuring other monster trucks, all with distinct personalities. There's a cheating monster truck causes lots of trouble for his friends which sending a positive message to kids about fair play.

Along with offering important teamwork and friendship lessons, kids will learn basic science and math concepts like combustion, measurement, motion, friction and simple machines. Besides, kids are encouraged to "help" characters solve problems through number sense and color recognition as well, enhancing pre-reading skills vital to pre-schoolers

*** RRjunior (I)'s favourite show! I'm sure all the boys will love this show too.

1) Rusty Rivets

Image: Google

Rusty Rivets featuring a 10 year old Rusty and his best friend Ruby as young inventors. This show is not only teaches kids about Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math concepts, but it inspired by growing DIY maker culture, using imagination and creativity to solve problems.

Each episode presents Rusty, Ruby and their team of robots are inventing and building a robot to solve a problem. They gather ideas, suggest and analyze the solution to get the job done. This show presents the basic workings of engineering process without getting too technical for young kids.

*** My son loves this show so much! He may start thinking more critically about how machines work and what kinds of inventions are needed

RRtraveldiary: Tips dan Itinerary di Bandung

Hi bloggers!!

Seperti yang korang tahu, Bandung memang famous dengan tempat shopping kannnn.. Walaupon entry ni dah berkepam dalam blog selama 2 tahun, hari ni baru terhegeh-hegeh nak publish. Huhu! So here's my quick INFO about my experience to Bandung:
  • March, 2015
  • Traveling with a small child
  • Bought Malindo package with Hotel. Total cost was RM800 including 20kg baggage per person, refreshments (mineral water & biscuits) and an accommodation for 5 days with breakfast. Tapi kalau nak makan heavy mcm kitaorang; boleh order nasi ayam merah atau nasi kandar, you can purchase additional for RM 12
Kitaorang siap boleh tgk movie lagi kat dalam flight
(Please bring your own earphone)
Even though the shows were a bit outdated, tapi dikira okay laaa dari dok melangok sajo-sajo.
Kaaaannn....
Paling malas bila nak kene isi borang kat airport

Sampai je kat airport, Pak Supir dah siap menunggu dengan label nama I (Nanti kita citer pasal Pak Supir ni okay). Disebabkan Flight delay dan kitaorang sampai pukul 4 petang, kitaorang decide nak makan dulu sebab lapar tahap gabans.. **Nasi dalam flight tu ciput sangat kot. Hahaha!

So, kitaorang bagitau kat Pak Supir, kitaorang tak nak makan nasi padang. Sebab last time I makan nasi padang kat Bandung, I terus hilang suara. May be sebab makanan dia sangat berminyak kot. Che Abe pon tak suka masakan yang jenis berminyak sangat nih. So, Pak Supir bawak kat tempat nih:

Kampiun Bistro
Western Food
Local food pon ada macam nasi goreng dll

Lepas habis jer makan, kitaorang terus ZAAAASSSSS ke Hotel untuk check in.
So, this is our hotel for 5 days:

Hotel 101 Bandung Dago
Rated 4 star hotel

My review about 101 Bandung Dago hotel:

Advantage
  1.  Strategic location. You can just walk on foot to Factory Outlet or nearest Mall. Tapi kalau yang ada anak kecik macam kitaorang ni, naik teksi jer laa.. Minimum bayaran tambang Rp 25,000 (dalam RM7)
  2. Wifi yang lajuuuuu **itu yg penting sebenarnya kaaannn
  3. Friendly staff **seriously sangat sangat sangat sangat sangat peramahhhhhhh. Keep up the good work!! Kami suka!!
  4. Good services (kalau request iron atau mintak tukar cadar, ZAAAASSSS diaorang terus datang)

Disadvantage
  1. Noisy especially at night. Sebab location hotel ni kat main road.
  2. Suggest bawak toiletries sendiri untuk keselesaan korang.
  3. Breakfast Buffet agak kurang menarik. Huhu! Tapi tak pelah. Sebab harga pon murah kan?
  4. Swimming pool agak kecil **Kalau yang ada anak yg suka swimming tu, diaorang tentu keciwaaaaaa
If you want to know more review of this hotel, you can also click HERE

Area makan kat hotel
Swimming pool dia besar tu jer
Nampak Menarik!

Okay.
Kita sambung citer

Lepas berehat sekejap kat hotel, pukul 6.30 petang kitaorang keluar lagi. Pak Supir bawak kitaorang ke Toko Tiga. Kitaorang stay kejap je. Tengok harga kat situ terus pengsan. Mahal okay. Harga macam kat KL je. Terus kitaorang keluar kedai tu tanpa sebarang belian. Korang tak pergi tempat ni pon tak pe sebab ada banyak lagi Factory Outlet yg jual Jeans.

Toko Tiga

Lepas tu, Pak Supir bawak kitaorang kat D'Fashion. Tempat ni ala-ala Jakel laaa.. Selesa nak beli kain bila bawak anak kecik macam RRjunior nih **si kecik ni tak boleh duduk diam.

Rumusan yang I boleh buat kat sini, kain kat D'Fashion memang murah. Lebih kurang harga kat Pasar Baru. Kena pandai tawar-menawar. Cumanya kami menyesal tempah jahit tailor kat situ. Sampai ke hari ni pon kami menyesal tak sudah. Memang laaa diaorang siapkan baju dalam satu hari. Siap pi hantar kat hotel lagi.. TAPI... Upah jahit mahal macam kat KL, (RM100 tak silap utk baju kurung atau jubah. Baju si kecik pon RM100 tau) jahitan baju yang diaorang jahit kitaorang tak puas hati. Apa yang kita request, lain pulak yang dia jahit. So, korang beli je kain kat sini tapi buat baju kat tempat yang biasa korang buat. Jangan jadi macam kitaorang **Silap kitaorang jugak sebab tak tanya dulu. Sigh~ Kami habis duit kat sini Rp 2 juta okaaayyyyy (sebab jahit baju punye pasal). Bak kata Che Abe, kalau 2juta tu.. dah boleh beli rumah banglo kat KL, haaaa~

Borong kain cotton

 Our Second Day

Nak dijadikan citer...
RRjunior got fever and diarrhea. DISASTER okay!
Semalaman I tak tido. Dia tak selesa tido sebab cirit birit. Dah ler selalu bocor kat cadar.
Punya laa orang hotel tu datang bilik pukul 3 pagi sebab cadar terkena poopoo cair
**I nak puji lagi diorang ni sebab servis diaorang cepat. Call je terus ZAAAASSS walaupon pukul 3-4 pagi pon.

Actually I dah prepare ubat demam & selsema. Tapi tak terlintas langsung nak bawak ubat cirit birit. Arrrgghhhhh! Tak pasal-pasal kena cari Hospital.
Nasib baik laa Che Abe tolong carikan hospital kat Bandung. Rupa-rupanya ada hospital untuk kanak-kanak dekat dengan hotel kitaorang. Just jalan kaki je. Nama hospital tu:

Rumah Sakit Ibu Anak Limijati
Photo: Google

Sorry, I tak snap gambar kat situ. Mana tak nyer.. Menggelabah sebab anak sakit. Hospital ni jenis private. Tapi Masyaallah.. Ramai orang. Nasib baik staff diaorang ni effisyen. Doctor Paed pon memang sangat-sangat okay. So, total kitaorang bayar dalam RM120. Okay laaa kan.

Al-Jadinyaa..
Seharian laa kitaorang stay kat hotel. Makan lunch & dinner pon kat hotel ni jugak. Huhu!
Anak oh anak...

Cuma lewat petang tu Che Abe decide nak pergi Rumah Mode. So kitaorang naik teksi je dari hotel. Memang senang nak dapat teksi sebab hotel tu located kat tepi jalan besar. Rumah Mode ni memang famous. Tapi sesetengah barang-barang dia mahal. Kena pandai tengok & compare la. Huhu! Tapi kalau korang ada duit lebih tu, grab je. Tak yah pikir panjang.

Anyway, kat Rumah Mode ni tak provide changing diaper room. So, kitaorang terpaksa guna wet tissue & salin je pampers atas bench beralaskan kain lampin. Darurat katanyeee..

Our Third Day

Erm, kitaorang setengah hari stay kat hotel. After lunch kat hotel, Che Abe decide nak pergi Factory Outlet. So, kitaorang naik teksi je. Nak jalan kaki takut susah dengan si kecik nih. Tapi memang tak terasa laa naik teksi. Tak sampai 3 minit dah sampai. Tambang teksi pon tak cecah minimum bayaran tambang.

Factory Outlet kitaorang pergi: Herritage, Stamp, dan lagi 2 tempat dah tak ingat nama dia. Tapi memang sebelah-sebelah je. Korang yang tak ada anak tu, boleh laa jalan kaki dan explore.

Masa malam pulak, kitaorang decide nak dinner kat D'cost Seafood. Tempat ni dalam Mall tingkat bawah. Jalan kaki je dari hotel. Staff hotel tu siap bagi direction lagi kat luar hotel. Baguih diaorang nih.

Food yang kitaorang order
Tom yam, sayur, kerang & ikan gurame

Our Forth Day

Baru laa kitaorang confident nak bawak RRjunior berjalan jauh. So malam tu kitaorang whatsapp siap-siap kat Pak Supir, datang pukul 7.30 pagi untuk bertolak ke Gunung Tangkuban Perahu.

Pak Supir ni memang punchual :)

Kitaorang sampai kat sini pukul 9 pagi (It takes almost 2 hours to get here) Pak Supir tu guna jalan kampung untuk elak traffik jam. Baguih Pak Supir nih. Tiket masuk: Rp55,000 (kita kena bayar)

Sebelum sampai kat sini, Pak Supir tu siap pesan jangan beli apa-apa dengan penjual jalanan. They sell things with ridiculous price & they follows you wherever you go. Huhu! Rimas kaaann. Tapi nak buat macam mana. Itu sumber rezeki diaorang. Kita just tolak offer diaorang sesopan yang boleh lorr.. Pak Supir ni memang eskot kitaorang all the way. Siap tolong ambik gambar lagi.

Kalau sampai pagi, memang cuaca sejuk & berangin
Best!!
Suggest: bawa penutup mulut sebab bau sulfur yang sangat kuat

Diaorang panggil pokok ni sebagai pokok Siti Nurhaliza & Kris dayanti. Huhu!
Ingat Pak Supir ni buat lawak, tapi memang betol

Sebelum pergi ke tempat lain, kitaorang sempat beli magnet kat kedai situ. Better tolong orang jual kat kedai sebab kesian diaorang bayar sewa mahal-mahal kaan..

Okay, our next destination:
Sari Ater Hot Spring; Kolam air panas
Tiket: Rp 22,000 tak silap. Lupa pulak

Kalau korang niat nak mandi, bawa siap-siap towel & extra baju. Kitaorang just chill & rendam kaki jer.. sebab RRjunior pun masih cirit birit.

Memang best. Rasa nak terjun je. Air kt situ suam ku-ku
Ada juga khidmat orang urut kaki. Tak sure kene bayar berapa

Next location:

Floating Market
Tiket masuk Rp10,000 seorang

Untuk beli barang kat sini, korang kene beli coin dahulu sebelum masuk

Tak kisah laa berapa token, asalkan kene habiskan kat situ jugak

Chantek tempat dia

Tempat wajib orang ambik gambar
Feeding fish
Rp 5,000

Angsa pon ada

Kitaorang beli pau ni je
RRjunior memang suka

Korang boleh jugak try naik boat chomel nih

alat musik traditional
Taman arnab
Also.. need to pay with token
Kalau budak besar RRjunior ni seronok laa tengok binatang ni
Letak je token kat sini
Tiket masuk kat sini sekali dengan kupon minuman
So boleh redeem kat sini before balik

Then, we went for lunch at Kampung Daun

Terpaksa dukung RR Junior beralaskan towel sebab takot kebocoran berlaku
Huhuhu!
Tempat wajib ambik gambar, kaaannnnn
Sebelum masuk ke tempat makan ni, kita kenalah pergi ke kaunter untuk dapatkan nombor pondok
No worries. Pak Supir kitaorang dah buatkan untuk kitaorang. Huhu!
Bila nak order makanan, ketuk aje benda alah nih.
The food that we ordered
Mushroom soup, Macroni soup, ikan bakar gurame, set nasi&ayam (tak ingat nama dia apa)
Total: RM100++ (anggaplaa total makan ni macam kat restaurant chillis untuk 2orang)

Later, we went to Pasar baru to buy kain pelikat (SisII kirim untuk bagi guest pada masa majlis akikah nanti). Kitaorang beli banyaaaaaaaakk okay. Sebab murah. Pastu pening kepala macam mana nak bawak balik. Hahahaha!

Directory Pasar Baru
UG & LG- Kain Batik, Pelikat dan Telekung
L1 & L2- Telekung, Kain Ela, Blouse
L3 & L4- Tempahan Baju, Blouse, Pakaian kanak-kanak, Kain Ela, Mainan
L5- Handbag
L6- Foodcourt
L7- Surau

Then, we also went  a few factory outlet such as TheSecret, Blossom, & Outlet Anak Kecil (tempat ni memang heaven kalau nak shopping baju budak-budak)

For our last dinner, Pak Supir brought us here:

Kedai Belacan. Tempat ni dekat laa jugak dengan hotel kitaorang.**Recommended

Live band
Request lagu
Pak Supir kitaorang yang tolong jadi posmen. Huhu!
.Food yang kitaorang order. Sedap okay
Tapi harga kat sini boleh tahan mahal macam kat Restaurant kampung daun
Tak kisahlah. Asalkan puas hati makan

Our Last Day

Sebelum kitaorang pergi ke airport, kitaorang singgah dulu Kartika Sari (the famous pastries) sebab nak beli Bolen sebagai souvenir . Ada banyak cawangan Kartika Sari tapi Supir bawak kitaorang kat cawangan besar kat situ sebab banyak choice.

When we arrived at the airport, check in our luggage, we managed to get a photo with our Supir. Kitaorang bayar RM300 (termasuk tips). Puas hati dengan service dia. Sebabnya korang tak perlu sediakan duit kecil untuk bagi orang yang jaga buat U-turn atau traffic. Dia yang akan bayarkan. Cumanya, duit tiket masuk parking macam Tangkuban Perahu tu kita kena bayar.

Korang boleh contact Supir ni:

Phone: Wasiu Aripin +62 8535 2920 876 (whatsapp)
Blog: supirmurahbandung.blogspot.com

Owh.. by the way, korang dah tak perlu bayar tax kat airport Bandung RP75,000 macam dulu.

With our Supir, Arif
He's a single father to 2 kids

Bila sampai kat KLIA 2, kitaorang kena tahan imigresen. Sebabnya dia scan beg nampak banyak barang benda sama. So, dia suruh buka beg. Kitaorang cakap laa kain pelikat ni untuk majlis akikah.

Pastu, dia tanya lagi.. anggaran belanja yang kitaorang dah spent. Che Abe jawab dalam RM1k. So dia suruh kitaorang bayar RM300 sebab kena bayar tax 30%. Che Abe tak cakap banyak. Terus pergi ke kaunter bayaran.

Masa kat kaunter, baru laa Che Abe explain balik dan minta jasa baik diaorang kurangkan bayaran. Kitaorang bukannya nak jual kain pelikat tu pon. So, nasib baik orang kat kaunter tu bagi diskaun sikit. Phewhh.. jadi laaa kaaan...

  8. Jangan ikut sangat tempat yang Supir nak bawa (kadang-kadang sesetengah tempat yang dia bawa tak best pon sebab bila dia bawa korang pergi situ, dia akan dapat komisyen dari tuan kedai) Sebaiknya, korang kena decide (kalau dah ada plan) unless korang sendiri tak tahu nak pergi mana
  9. Jangan shopping sakan sampai tak ingat dunia yerrrrr. Nanti balik KL, korang makan maggie jerr haaaa...

That's all for now.
Happy School Holiday~
